*One of 45 fellows selected through national competition. Joined the School Management and Organization Studies Team, within the Program on Educational Policy and Organization, at the National Institute of Education. Assumed responsibility for the development of a research agenda on the school principal. During that year I was also selected by Dr. Terry Saario to assist in organizing the newly named Interdepartmental Task Force on Women, created by President Carter under the direction of Sarah Weddington.
